The A train pisses me off...

I left for work early this morning. On Fridays we close at 3 so ideally everyone should arrive at 9 am. I left for work at 8:40 which normally would have gotten me to my office a little after 9. As I left my apartment the raindrops were just coming down. I hurried to the subway and almost tripped going down my steps since I'm trying to get used to walking without my cast. Its not easy and my foot hurts. As I got down into my A train station I saw a bunch of people standing around. A cop was there to tell everyone that the train was broken and we needed to walk all the way across town to the 1 train. Great just what I need with my broken ankle. I limped over there and met up with a couple cool peeps ZK (my hero) and TE. We pushed ourselves into a crowded subway car even though the conductor insisted there was another train directly behind. Never believe them. They are full of crap. Promise. My little buddy TG was on the train with us. TG is my buddy MGR's little sister and the twin of RG. As ZK correctly pointed out, new cutesy 22 year olds in our neighborhood are good for the boys and bad for the girls. Boys like the younger ones and the girls just get annoyed watching the boys drool. This happens in all communities. All single 26 year olds hate the cute blond 22 year olds who move into their neighborhood. Its a fact. TE tried to point out that not all pretty girls get married young...but I interupted her and said she doesn't get to state her opinion because she already won, ie is engaged to her guy SR.

Anyway, when the 1 train finally pulled into 59th street I switched to get to the B train since it was still pouring out and the shorter walk to my office the better. So I stepped down to the platform and whats the first train to pull into the station you might ask?.....the A train. If we'd waited for another 20 minutes we probably could have taken the A train straight from 181st street and not been molested on the crowded 1 train. Of course, I'm pretty positive it was ZK touching my butt, you never can be too sure. Shabbat Shalom!

Susanne,

You make me laugh and laugh and laugh. So I guess that makes you my hero. YI, who almost made it onto our elevator, informed me that she switched to the A at 168th. We totally should have hit that up, who knew? Not us, cuz the MTA doesn't tell us anything. I guess you can just be happy that we don't live in Queens, where they haven't had power since Monday. You also forgot to mention my lovely iced coffee that I so kindly shared with you. After I left you at 96th, I took the 3 to 42nd where I caught the N to 14th where I caught the R to Prince Street. Good times. Good thing no gives a damn when I come to work. Even better times. Shabbat Shalom to all of your loyal readers out there (guess I just wished myself Shabbat Shalom...hehe) and despite what you may have wished it was not me touching your butt, I believe I was standing in front of you the entire time so I did get a chance. Too bad, we'll have to schedule in some crowded train time for another day.

Toodles.

I read your blog but never comment, even though at times I'm very tempted, but this time I must. There are some very attractive single 26(+) year olds out there, not all pretty girls get married young!

Thats for sure Anonymous! ZK and I are two hotties who definitely prove that fact! I left out a lot of fun details, like the fact that I kept making a scene (thats a daily subway occurence for me), the old Jewish guy who TE generously gave up her seat for prompting a discussion about my previous blog post, and the selling of the ice from the iced coffee for profit. ZK is a marketing genius.

I hadn't thought about that before. So funny. The fall brings with it a new crop. However, for you gals, more guys also move in.

Yeah, 22 year old cutesy boys! Not really my type. ZK? You up for them? Ready to rob the cradle?

Do you really find that many 22 year old girls moving in? I've found on the west side guys tend to move in at 22 or 23, but the girls tend to take another year or two. Maybe it's the price difference between the two neighborhoods?

Ok first of all, if pretty girls all get married young, then shouldn't we all be married with 2 kids by now?!
Second of all, if you think you're gonna meet guys in the heights, you're wrong. They don't date girls who've lived in the heights longer than 5 minutes - especially if they are friends with you. Trust me - I've asked.
The only ppl in the heights who date are ppl who live in 182. I think there's something in the pipes there.....
As for the A train, you should try the bus. It's like a whole different world of annoying ppl. I do not miss the train at all.

did we just set a record for blog comments in one posting?

Holy Mackeral! I need to choose these touchy subjects more often. Bring on the breast implant post!

(Tried commenting earlier, but Blogspot ate my comment.)

Personally, my favorite part of the Yommim Tovim Season(tm) is watching all the little toddler's hopes get crushed when they realize that they won't be married by Hanukkah.

And I second Arona: there is absolutely no positive correlation bwn. cuteness/coolness and number of dates. The cooler/cuter a girl is, the less likely a guy is to ask her out, esp. if she's smarter than him. In my experience, most W-Heights guys want to marry a sycophant who isn’t going to steal his limelight.

Suzanne,

Would you be my sycophant?

SusQHB said...

sycophant n. A servile self-seeker who attempts to win favor by flattering influential people.

I think I already am ZK. See previous post for examples.

Ok, now I'm pissed. Someone is impersonating me. That previous ZK was not me (makes sense now why I had no clue what Susanne was talking about at Shul tonight, yes I did see Susanne in Shul tonight, despite it being a Monday, we are very frum chicks.) I know I have a great personality and all but why would someone try and impersonate me? I feel a bit violated actually. Susanne find that person's IP address and we'll go after them. Should be a fun 9 Days sort of activity.

P.S. There really is something in the water of 182, I say we all sublet there for the summer and see if the magic works for us.
